Community is also important in my own creative practice. I have opened and managed a storefront gallery Art:Works on Main that is combination of my personal studio space and an exhibition space that has exhibited such diverse work as internationally recognized artists, local Disabled Veterans and kindergarten students in my rural community of Winthrop, Maine. After the success of that space, I created a second contemporary art space, PopUP265, in downtown Augusta. I have curated shows in that space with artists ranging from as new UMA alumni trying to emerge as artists to the international acclaimed Sudanese political artist Khalid Albaih.
In the summer of 2017, I taught a hands-on Mural Planning, Designing and Painting class that worked closely with the Augusta Downtown Alliance and the City of Augusta in an effort to revitalize the Augusta waterfront downtown. I have also designed and installed a wheat paste mural in downtown Gardiner, Maine and am working with the Augusta Downtown Alliance to create a second mural.
